Plans

Plans.

Used to be ONE of the main word in my life.

Some prefer spontaneity in life and some prefer plans after plans after plans.

I am of course the latter.

A friends once told me to embrace life's uncertainty and be spontaneous. She said: life is a gamble, take the chances and live life.

Sometimes, I think it is the fact that you want to be in control of your own life. And thus, you make plans, to make sure that you get your ways. When it doesn't, you'll question why and why and why.

Fair enough.

But then again, recently I've realise that, what you think is best at that cross road. Might not be that prefect; The road not taken, might not be the worse road afterall..

Then why are we so particular about how we get there, when the future is uncertain and you can't even begin to tell what this road might lead you to?

Then perhaps, I should learn to let go. Even if I hate it; refuse to or even deny it.

Take chances, live life.

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.
Delicious Ambiguity.”

Frementle Sunday

So, I found out that besides going to the beach or park, there are still shops that actually open on a Sunday.

The place to go is Frementle. Basically a small city with nice buildings structure but above all, their market is the killer.

Cupcakes.. which always stop you on your track

Then I saw this antic chair.. which actually belongs to a coffee house.. I've just modelled with it without even buying their coffee..

Yum.. cupcakes? Nope.. they are actually soap..

I can't use them. Am afraid I'll just swallow them up when I'm showering.

Haha, no. It is too pretty to be used.

Probably will labelled "FOR DISPLAY ONLY"

Founds this random stall selling this hat..

Most likely to be used in: Costume party maybe?? ;)

 Oh my goodnesss....

Macaroooooonsss...

Finally, the Malaysian way. Everything must end with food. Christobel mentioned about this Japanese place that sells Ramen.

This place is in the market and thus, there were places to eat but it was really crampy.

AND

There were so many people.

How it works: You'll go into the shop telling the cashier what you want, pay for it.

Then the lady will tell you how long you have to wait (eg. 45 mins - that was how long we waited for)

You'll then give them your number so that they can text you when your seat is ready.

We spent those time walking around the market so it wasn't too bad.

Our Ramen. I ordered the original Ramen.

Personally I think there is nothing too special about it. I mean it was nice. But I will not actually take a drive down to purposely eat it.

I mean if I happen to be in the market, I might.

Having said that, they are really famous though. And I was told that you'll always find the crowd there.

So that was my Sunday.

Hope you all had a good one tooooo!

P/s: Picture was taken from my new HTC one-x camera. Am loving it so far...

officially graduated

I've officially graduated!!

Behind this picture, there were 3.5 years of study, stress, last minute assignment sleepless nights, 24 hours study time for exam and

most of all, a good & quality student life.

Everyone says that university life is the best time of their life. Well, been there and done that, I agree with it.

I mean yeah, you have to study and all but you have all your friends around you. Especially being overseas by yourself, you will grow to be really close to your friends. You'll laugh, cry, eat, sleep and do everything together. You'll study for exams together, rant about your courses together and have fun together!! Do crazy things and be wild!! Because that is the only time you can.

If you do it in your worklife, people will be thinking: 'What the hell is wrong with you??'

But if you do it during your student life: 'its ok, their are just the students'

It is nice to have that excuse all the time.

I am really thankful for my parent's support during those times and I'm really glad that they both attended my graduation! 10 hours flight (to NZ the geographically remote land)

My parents had attended 4 other graduation each in the UK, the US and Aussie but they were pretty surprised by the parade that we had. We walked through the main street (George street) to get to the hall in town.

During the parade

One with Chyi Mei, credits of all the photos goes to her!!

Used to run up these stairs for classes

Thank you mummy and daddy!!

I was rather nervous back then.

2 girls actually tripped walking down the stairs after getting their scroll.

I had to keep reminding myself to walk slowly and steadily.

Thus, what ran through my mind on the stage was:

" Remember to look up and smile"

"walk slowly"

"shake his hand"

"walk down slowly"

Haha!

That was THE moment.

A phrase of my life has ended and looking back now, I did not regret even a single thing I did in my university life.

I loved it all!!

things I have with me now

A 10 days trip back to NZ for graduation was so refreshing.

Flying times literally means having A LOT of time to read. I brought:

The question that I have been pondering very much about lately is:

What do I want to do with my life?

I mean, there is SO MUCH I want to achieve in my life.

I've also lived long enough to know that you can only prioritize a few - the main ones.

Personally I am quite a safe player and sometimes taking risk really scares me. The book was a good read and I am taking notes all over the book already. That is why I am no big fan of electronic books.  ;)

On a lighter note, I've just gotten a new phone.

HTC ONE X babyyyyy!!

I'm finally living in a new era now.

I was downloading all the different games: you know, those really famous ones - temple run, angry bird, fruit ninja....

For some reason, I always get too nervous with games.

Then, I can't react fast enough to play it.

I'll die in temple run within seconds. Pfffftttt...

Whateverrrr.

Sweet tooth

I've been craving for a lot of sweet things lately.

My landlady, Mei made scones the other day and jam with cream. Oh my goooodnesss.. I was eating up nearly the whole plate. She had to hide some for her guest later that day.

Mei is a pastry chef.

Isn't that very interesting??

So I was lucky to be staying with her. She is good at making and tasting food. Well I suppose, that sorta have to come together.

I'll always invited her to try my food. But she'll always reject politely (after her first try on my soy sauce chicken) And I really wonder why she didn't wanna try anymore...

....

Anyways, we had a company buffet dinner in Burswood the other day and cupcakessss!!

Sweet things are evil. First, they attract you. And then you'll get addicted to them.

Lastly, they will pile the fats up in your body.

Great.

At the end of the day, I can't get over them.

Love hate relationship. You know.

Rescued

Hello everyone, someone has rescued me from the jungle (that was why I had been missing for 2/3 weeks now!).

*that was a joke btw

But close enough, I didnt have internet at home for those weeks. Imagine my pain. But I am back, once again stronger. ;)

I had a full Saturday hangout with my girlfriends last week. Such a blessing to know these girls. I'm introducing 2 more people, whom you'll frequently see from now on in this blog.

Debbie and Christobel.

My new gang. Perth gang.

A little more about them. Debbie. She is REAL comical. I told her that she can very well go into acting if she wanted another job. At times I can burst out laughing just by looking at her. A very caring and kind-hearted girl, eldest in the family (thats probably why).

Christobel. She's easily the person I talk most to in the office. Haha. Or put it the other way round, she has a lot of interesting stories to tell me everytime. ;) Her thinking is very practical and are always challenging assumptions. Always, always stands up for herself. Highly admired quality esp in a working world.

And there I was, the youngest. I'm like a kiddo beside them. haha. But together, we're just awesome.

So back to the day.

We first had tim sum to start off the day, followed by full day of shopping in town and then dinner at night plus coffee dessert. What more can you ask for??

There we are.

Based on the description, try putting the names to their faces. :P

We had coffee after dinner in this place called IMP.

I had iced mocha. Not my usual but it was highly recommended by debbie. So I tried.

It wasn't as strong as how I would like it to be. Maybe I'm just very accustomed to hot coffee.

We were given a complimentary carrot something dessert. (with some coconut taste thing and meringue)

The surroundings were very relaxing and it is a good place hang out and chill. It is in Victoria Park.

Ahhhh...

I would want a coffee corner in my place next time. Preferably, like that.

Hope everyone is ready for another week tomorrow!

Life, and it is fragile

Whenever we hear the news that someone has passed away, we tend to be shocked. Although at times, you sort of see it coming. But still such news makes people shiver in fear, makes someone sad/depress or even, tear a person apart.

Like you're never gonna see them again. ever.

The thing is, we all know, ever since when we were born. We will die one day.

Then why is it so hard to accept it when it comes?

That is because, we love them so very dearly.

Then what can we do about it?

Treasure every moment when you're with them. You never know when is the time going to come.

All of my family members are, kinda of all over the world. I never get to see them often. Maybe once a year. That is good enough. As a matter of fact, I think a lot of families are like that these days...

I know for a fact that once we start a family, we'll see each other even lesser.

So I will always make it a point, to go the extra mile to spend time with them.

My family is more important than anything else. I will sacrifice anything for them. I love them so much.

I've just realised, the last time we get together as a family was in 2009. Come one everyone!! Please make it a point to make it to US end of this year!!

p/s: nothing has happened. I'm just reminding myself of how fragile life can be and we should always make an extra effort to spend time with our loved ones. Nothing is more important than that. Trust me.
